Christian Joas is a Research Scholar at the Chair for the History of Science in the History Department of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and currently a Research Fellow at the Niels Bohr Archive in Copenhagen, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. His research focuses on the history of modern physics. He has worked on the genesis and applications of quantum mechanics and is currently studying the history of many-body physics and of processes of knowledge transfer between nuclear, solid-state, and elementary-particle physics in the 1950s and 1960s.
